A virus like a wild fire
Novel Coronavirus (covid-19) is becoming a major global health treat. It was first reported in China and believed was transmitted to humans from an animal source in a city called Wuhan. First cases was reported in that city with a flue like symptoms followed by respiratory distress in which it can lead to organ failure. So far more than 80,000 cases are confirmed in 35 countries. As today’s (25/02/2020) HWO report confirmed there are 2705 death recorded globally with 2668 in main land china, the remaining death reports are in countries outside china like Iran, Italy, south Korea are other most affected countries. This tragedy is causing lots of distraction. Neighboring countries to those most affected ones are placing movement restrictions. Several global activities like trade, sport, and tourism in particular and economic activities in general are greatly affected. The pathogen is easily transfer via aerosols during sneezing, coughing and can survive in surfaces for several days. another challenge also asymptomatic carriers can transmit the infection without been noticed. This makes hard to illuminate and identify the infected person so to be treated at the earliest stage therefore farther infection can me controlled effectively. After the outbreak, several measures are placed to contain the infection to the minimal but still it is propagating like a wild fire have been witnessed recently burning Australian and the Amazon forest. I hope countries to prepare for the worst scenario and individuals to be always vigilant preventing such infections.
