Online learning is one sort of teaching methods. Individuals who has no time to enrol and attend class, they tend to choose online classes and that is an alternative to them. On the other hand to join classes and face-to-face classes could be more appropriate and interesting to others. This could be a matter of choice or due to other personal circumstances like financial, time, place and other factors. Recently our university stopped face-to-face education and all its teaching facilities transformed to online teaching. This was due to the global crises caused by the corona virus (Covid-19). Since its closure everything changed and started to adapt the new teaching style. As a result our first second PDP session held online. Learning from home isn’t that simple when I see from my own point of view. During the session there were some technical problems but in general, it is demanding and it asks your personal responsibility, networking is also a challenge by its own and it requires self-determination at most. Family issue is a major problem for me as a live with family with no study room or alternative studying spaces. Therefore the option I have is to do my study time during night and early morning, b/c there is no other way I can fix the current issue. Many students are experiencing such problems and I hope everyone is using different means facing the challenge. Today’s video chats in regard skills module was so helpful and interesting. Such alternative mechanism are extremely useful, they need to be in place and adopted as alternative mechanisms.
Studding from home, especially in case of pandemics and when you been ordered not to leave home, it is really hard to balance everything and sure things won’t go smooth. Eg. If you require to use software which you can’t get is outside the campus library, and an able to load in to your own computer or laptop, it is really challenging. Anyway I hope this pandemic will be cleared and life to return to normal.
